Late last week, a controversial art exhibit in New York City entitled “The Assassination of Hilary Clinton/The Assassination of Barack Obama” was raided and shut down before it could be viewed by the public . In a vacant storefront on West 40th Street in Midtown Manhattan, Boston-born performance artist, Yazmany Arboled, truly believed his racist views, if posed as art, would be protected under the US Constitution. However, no more than 30 minutes after Arboled placed the finishing touches on his exhibit, NYPD, as well as some secret service members, flooded the streets and shut the exhibit down; hauling of Arboled in handcuffs.Though no one was able to enter the premises, its seems to be no coincidence–or surprise to many of the Black Community–that pictures of the exhibit where presidential hopeful Barak Obama is displayed in a negative
light surfaced throughout the media.
